Day 3: Überlingen - Triberg

Woke up 4min. before the alarm went of and went to breakfast with Heidi and her husband. Talked about GPS, OpenStreet and some hiking journeys they have done.

At about 9.30 I set of and continued along the flat biking route along Lake Constant. After that through forests, apple gardens and above a motorway. After 20km I noticed that something was wrong with my bike. The back wheel was not running properly and the breaks where rubbing. On top of that there was once again no place to eat for ages. I had lunch in the bakery of a Neto supermarket in the end with a trio of very chaty women bakers. They told me it was still ages to where I had planned. Brilliant! After that it was uphill through forests with my bike always getting worse. At the top there was a wildpark with deer in it which you could look at. Then downhill through a load of small villages always asking the locals which way. In the end the one everybody had wanted to send me too was closed but luckily a couple told me about another one and acctualy rang up to see if they were open. Turned out they were so it was through forests and high grass that I got there.
Apparently I had:
a.) not put the tire in completly on the Pfänder
b.) my outside tire had been worne through in some place

After fixing all that it was of to Triberg along one of those roads that look like they go downhill but in reallity are going uphill. My GPS and leg muscles noticed, my eyes didn't.
Then the last run down to Triberg to the youthhostel (were I got a double bedroom with shower to myself) and an evening meal in a very posh (and expensive) restaurant.
Result of the day: bum aching, muscle legs burning and very tired.

Track at GPSies and pictures at Picasa.
